| Patron deity of the Aztec empire, whose name means "left-handed hummingbird". He's a god of war, whose victory or defeat was directly related to that of his subjects. Some tales make him the son of Coatlicue, while others claim that he's the son of Ometecuhtli and Omecihuatl, alongside his 3 siblings Tezcatlipoca, Quetzalcoatl and Xipe Totec. The country of Mexico owes its name to one of his other monikers, "Mextli". |
